how I work

collaboration

This process is collaborative, explorative, and vulnerable; together we will explore your relational patterns, unconscious processes, dreams and fantasies.

I will meet you where you are and we will explore the experience of being together in this process of learning about your existence. It can be scary at times, fun and exciting at others. Together, we will explore your past and current thoughts and feelings to help you make sense of your world and experience your life in all its good, bad and ugly.

our relationship

In our work together, I ask you to invite trust, curiosity, and honesty into the room. To be curious about oneself in the presence of another is to invite the possibility of new and vulnerable discovery which can feel daunting and exposing at times. I promise to meet these new discoveries with care and patience.

The therapeutic relationship is our vehicle to exploring your internal world, how it was constructed and is being maintained. I invite you to ask questions about yourself and take risks in naming your experiences as they come up in our work together.

We will explore when these things feel remiss, when our dynamic is off balance, or when certain fears may arise in you. This is an opportunity to do things differently in an effort to change.

psychodynamic

I utilize a relational psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approach to aid in deepening our work together. This means that we will explore the sources of your pain, your relationship dynamics, your dreams, wishes and fantasies to better understand the many facets of your conscious and unconscious mind.

My approach is relational. This means that together, we will observe and uncover the dynamics occurring both in and out of the therapy room, utilizing our relationship to explore the ways you interact with the world and others.
